ABOUT
Hi! I'm Tracy — owner, designer, and unashamed hopeless romantic. I've been a maker as long as I can remember, though the mediums have changed over the years. Everything I know I learned from my grandmother, who shared her skills and her love of creating with me from a very young age. The Tiny Wren is even named for her. She loved birds, and we used to sit and watch them at the feeders outside her window, me in her lap.
When my husband was in the hospital for his second cancer surgery, I needed something to keep me occupied that was easily portable and didn't take up a lot of room, so I turned to jewelry. I've always been drawn to the past, and after a few years of studying historical fashion for reenacting purposes, I’d fallen in love with antique jewelry. Little did I know how therapeutic jewelry design would be for me during Chris's long battle!
Upcycling vintage jewelry quickly became a passion, and I’ve spent countless hours at flea markets and tiny antique shops sifting through piles of “buried treasure” and recycling broken bits and pieces into heirloom jewelry that can be loved again. A broken necklace with beautiful glass beads from Japan, a rhinestone brooch with a few stones missing, a single earring with crystal beads that catch the light… all things that would otherwise be thrown out became part of my collection, and I'm proud to make these unique, earth-friendly jewelry designs. Now, I’m happy to share my obsession with the past by offering gowns and accessories for your reenacting events (Elegant Eras Design), and sometimes I even make it into the modern era with Castle House Crafts Co. So here’s to the hopeless romantics, the lovers of all things vintage, and those who were born in the wrong era.
